Our Story

Where this started

Like many products built by developers, SMS Activate was born from personal frustration. We were running automated tests for a multi-platform SaaS product and needed to verify dozens of accounts across different services — Telegram channels, Google accounts, financial dashboards. Every existing solution we tried was either unreliable, overpriced for low-volume usage, or required a business contract before you could even see pricing.

So we built our own tooling. What started as an internal utility for one team grew into a proper product when colleagues and contacts started asking to use it. We spent the next several months hardening the infrastructure, negotiating direct carrier agreements, and building a clean API. By the time we opened publicly, the architecture had already been stress-tested on hundreds of thousands of real activations.

What we are, and what we are not

Virtual phone numbers are a neutral technology — a tool, not an intent. Like any tool, they can be used well or poorly. We are an SMS activation service for legitimate account management, development, testing, and privacy protection. We are not a service for spam, fraud, harassment, or circumventing legal processes.

We operate a terms-of-service enforcement layer that monitors for patterns associated with abuse — volume anomalies, rapid cycling across platforms, bulk registration fingerprints. Accounts flagged by this system are reviewed. Accounts found to be in violation are terminated without refund.

We also cooperate fully with law enforcement requests that arrive through proper legal channels. We keep the minimum data necessary to do this — user registration information and transaction records — and we do not retain activation content beyond what is operationally required. We are not a privacy shield for illegal activity; we are a privacy tool for lawful use.
